Snt Global makes sure the product is sent to end customers directly. RUPA DAMODARAN writes. MORE companies look to outsource their non-core business to increase revenue and profitability on lower production costs.
Those in the logistic industry also look to tigher delivery schedules, lower transportation costs and less damage to goods transported. Few, however, can provide the "last mile" factor, that is, ensuring the product is sent to end customers directly. SnT Global Sdn Bhd is one company which has evolved a business model that can address distribution strategies. With its customers it explores the opportunities of delivering directly to customers their products and services through lowering the cost of supply chain and logistic expenses. It has been setting a trend for companies Koi Voon said many companies which had sought its expertise had reduced their distribution costs by between eight and 15 per cent, with some registering savings of up to almost 25 per cent. "Since its inception, SNT has invested significantly to position itself as a leader in supply chain execution and total logistics management," he said. "In this direction, the company has aligned operation assets around strategic fulfillment models and a world-class integrated IT infrastructure. This includes several acquisitions and alliances." NEC Infrontia Asia Pacific, a key phone systems provider, reported a 30 per cent cost reduction after locating its operations in Malaysia more than a year ago. Through a joint venture with SnT Global, it experienced shorter quick lead time from orders to customers from 30 days to five days. The company has also gained some of its lost market share. "We take orders on their behalf through our call centres. Once confirmed, we manage the supply network, logistics management right trough to the end customer. And, in the event of any problem, we also provide after sale-management service too. "By allowing SnT Global to do so, the company needs to focus on creating demand for their products and planning its marketing strategies," he said. With its BPO business being a long-term relationship, SnT Global's customers are mainly manufacturers, distributors and logistic companies. Transformation started two years ago, when ShipandTrack was given its current name, to better reflect that it is a click and mortar company rather than a dotcom. From a company which provides electronic logistics services, SnT has evolved to one that provides a full range of e-fulfilment services. SnT's e-fulfilment BPO services integrates people, processes and technology to enable supply-chain execution, helping e-market places, manufacturer and distributors to outsource their fulfilment process, focus on their core business, improve profitability and sustain their advantage. This includes six areas: order fuifilment, transportation management, warehouse management, reverse logistics, customer relationship management and financial settlement. The name SnT Global today represents far more than just one winning concept and e-fulfiment solutions provider. Its technology platform enables business-to-business integration comprising end-to-end processes from order management through logistics and financial service provisions. Named HeLP (Hosted eLogistic Platform), it provides a collaborative environment that helps the entire fulfillment experience of participants involved throughout the supply chain. SnT Global's other customers include Dell, Sony, Epson and TM Net. Its mission is to become Asia's leading e-fufilment solution provider.
