Majority of production is supplied to the local market with the rest being exported to Europe and other countries around the world.

The management was under pressure to improve profitability by reducing cost and improving efficiency through an overhaul of the supply chain as well as forging integrated long-term relationships built on communication, commitment and mutual gain. Key areas in quality, service and cost needed to be managed efficiently to provide the company the ability to build long lasting relationships.

NEC Infrontia Asia Pacific (NECi)
Moves away from their traditional business process to gain market share

NEC Infrontia Corp (NECi), a Japanese-based global key telephone systems supplier, had one of the largest market share in their industry in Malaysia in the 90’s with sales revenue, encompassing the key phone system, mobile phones and laptops in the RM400 million region.

This all changed in the 2000’s where the growing phenomenon of the internet and it’s technological capabilities altered the market environment of the industry and saw market shares slipping.

NEC Infrontia realises the need to have a complete business process that is able to manage the supply chain utilising a direct model from vendors to the end users efficiently to decrease cost and increase efficiency in order to be more competitive in the market.

moves to improve customer support and marketing capabilities for Malaysia and Singapore

First published in 1922 with only 5,000 copies published, Reader’s Digest has since grown to become one of the world’s pre-eminent publishers and direct marketers and the largest selling magazine in the world. Reader’s Digest magazine now appears in 50 editions, 21 languages, distributed to more then 60 countries and sell about 21 millions copies per month. The company also publishes books, including the popular Select Editions series and offerings in the do-it-yourself, cooking, health, gardening and children's titles; music from Beethoven to today's pop divas; and videos and audio books.

In the Asian office, the management felt that there was further opportunity to expand their marketability Asia Pacific region where sales penetration is low. There was also the inability to meet with corporate growth rate within the region.

Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS), a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), is the leading provider of integrated ground handling, in-flight catering and security services at the Singapore Changi International Airport. SATS also have operations throughout the Asia Pacific region.

One of their many initiatives is developing its Supply Chain Management activities with special emphasis on Logistics. A new department was set up to provide this new line of services to further add value to the Cargo Community which include Shippers, Consignees, 3PLs and Airlines.
